MISSIONS
Who are we?
Design Luxembourg is the representative federation of designers in Luxembourg, committed to the recognition, promotion, and development of the design sector. Its mission is to highlight design professions and their specificities to public and private institutions while raising awareness of their impact on the economy, culture, and society as a whole. Through various actions, Design Luxembourg provides its members with a platform for support and exchange. Established in 1995, the a.s.b.l Design Luxembourg is preparing to celebrate its three decades of existence in 2025.
Our missions
Our commitment is based on several key missions, each contributing to strengthening and enhancing the role of design in Luxembourg society. Through these actions, we aim to create a united community of designers in Luxembourg to better defend our shared interests.
Creating a national design ecosystem:
We strive to build a true community of designers by bringing together our members—professionals from various design disciplines based in Luxembourg. The goal is to promote exchange, collaboration, and mutual support within this ecosystem so that everyone can share their experiences, pool their knowledge, and strengthen their skills. As a member of this community, you will have access to discussion groups (WhatsApp) and exchange platforms that facilitate networking and support.
At the international level:
We develop relationships with international organizations such as BEDA (Bureau of European Design Associations), of which Design Luxembourg is a member. These partnerships enhance our association’s visibility and credibility on an international scale and help create expanded professional networks.

Creating a directory of designers:
We aim to establish a database bringing together our members—professionals from various design disciplines based in Luxembourg. This directory will serve both as a resource for better understanding the design ecosystem in Luxembourg and as a showcase for designers to potential clients, in both the private sector and public institutions. Accessible on our website designluxembourg.lu, this tool will help promote the expertise of our members and give them greater visibility.
Promote and enhance
Recognizing the importance of design:
Raising awareness about the importance of design is at the heart of our actions. We actively work to ensure that public institutions and businesses recognize design as a driver of innovation and economic, cultural, and social development. Through our lobbying efforts, we defend the interests of designers in decision-making bodies and advocate for the recognition of the designer's status in Luxembourg.
Promoting design through events:
We organize events such as meetings, exhibitions, and conferences that highlight the diversity of design professions. These public events help raise awareness of the specificities of each discipline and educate both local and international stakeholders on the importance of design.
Raise awareness
We will strengthen our ties with schools to support the development of future design talents. Our platform designluxembourg.lu is also aimed at students and future designers, by providing them with resources on professional integration and continuous training, to better prepare them for entering the design field.
Education
Creating moments of connection and inspiration:
We bring the Luxembourg design scene to life by offering a year-round program of events, including workshops, conferences, and networking sessions. These events are designed to stimulate idea exchange and inspire designers as well as businesses to integrate creative processes into their projects.
Must-attend events in 2025:
The year 2025 will be marked by two major flagship events. First, the Luxembourg Design Awards ceremony, which will highlight local talent and celebrate excellence in design. Additionally, the launch of the Luxembourg Design Festival, following the success of the European Design Festival held in 2023. This new event promises to become a must-attend gathering for all design enthusiasts, both nationally and internationally.
